Beyond the Edge of Reality Show

The other night, I was on the "Beyond the Edge of Reality Show" discussing tarot reading, paranormal investigations, Lizzie Borden, The Haunted Mansion Retreat, Slime City Massacre and more.

It was a lot of fun, remembering how and why I learned to read tarot to begin with and what twisty paths I've been journeying along. As I talked about how I used to be afraid of tarot cards, I remember just how paralyzing that fear had been. I felt that if I read cards, I'd be dancing with the devil. But once I became educated about what they really are and what they can and can't "do," the fear slipped away.

These days I can't imagine a life without playing with a crystal or peeking at a tarot card. Just because I can see possibilities doesn't mean that I will make the right choices in reaching my goals. Deciphering symbols for other people is always easier, as any tarot reader will share with you. Most readers don't read for themselves. It's too hard to see clearly no matter how open you believe you're being.

Remembering the Lizzie Borden House and some of the mysterious events that had happened there made me want to return more than ever. Lisa Mannetti and I will be broadcasting a show from the Lizzie Borden House in July.

The Haunted Mansion Project also came up and I talked about my paranormal adventures from my two visits.

I had a lot of fun being on the show and am looking forward to being on again sometime.

For an hour before me, there's much talk about haunted dolls with creepy dolls people.
I was on the second half of the show, around the 63 minute mark.

As always, I'm available for tarot readings by email or call me or chat with me on my keen line. You can book a time if I'm marked away.  keen . com ariana23

I also was on another blogtalk radio show for a tiny bit. This one had channeller Solana on to channel Lizzie Borden's spirit. Lisa Mannetti was also on giving a history of the Lizzie Borden case as well as relaying experiences that had happened to her on paranormal investigations there.

Uncovering Creepy Places in Your Hood

The weather is finally breaking here in Toronto. There's a tentative hope that spring is springing at last.

As the weather gets better, the urge to get out more beckons to us. Toronto has lots of places to explore even if you have only a few minutes.

Going for a walk is your best bet. If you work at home, take frequent walks during the day for twenty minutes. Change your path. Create circuits and try to beat your time.

This is also when you can discover "creepy" houses in your neighbourhood. Maybe you live near a graveyard or park. Almost any area in a city as big as the GTA will have loads of creepy places.

One part of paranormal investigation is trying to determine what is "normal" in terms of sounds and temperature and what could be indicating unexplainable phenomenon.

Walk around your neighbourhood and take pictures. Get a sense of what is "normal" for your area.

It can be fun to put your pictures together and create stories. You might find things in  your pictures you never noticed before.

Even something as obvious as an expensive gated community can become ominous depending on how you choose to see it, what time of day it is and the angle you choose to photograph. I spent a lot of time in that gated community when I was working for the government. Everyone in there is just as normal as you and I. But rich.

See how a gate tip in the photo above takes on an ominous tone? It's reminiscent of how a character is going to meet his fate in a slasher film. Or is it just a gate tip on cold day in March? Maybe an animal or even a human had been injured on that gate tip. We'll never know.

Believe it or not, the picture above and the picture below are both the famous haunted "Legion Road" streetcar stop. If you search "haunted Toronto," you'll find stories about it.

The north side of the road seems to be the area where most of the weird sightings have happened to me. Now, however, there's a building there. See that big new condo? That's new. There was nothing there before. I've never actually waited for the streetcar there in either direction. But I drive along there pretty much every day. The mist rolled in from the lake, perhaps. Just in that one spot. Right by the streetcar stop. Nowhere else.
It's very curious.

If you do happen to discover weird and interesting areas in your neighbourhood, be careful if you get the urge to explore deeper. Obey the law and don't go trespassing. Enjoy the stories in your head about what might have happened on the grounds you are walking on, before there were sidewalks and buildings, back when there was only wildlife. Perhaps even dinosaurs.

Where are the ghosts residing?

Haunted Mansion Project

If you like to read about true life ghost stories, this book is the one for you.

Part of the book relays true life experiences that occured over four days at the haunted mansion. The remainder of the book contains poems and stories that were inspired by events and vibes at the mansion but didn't necessarily happen.

The essays, reflections, stories and poems in this book are written mostly by accomplished horror authors with a few newbies. The professional ghost hunting group, Ghost Girls, included their findings in this books as well.

The second book in the Haunted Mansion Project Series will be out shortly. This book contains the most recent findings at the house with the same mix of true and fictional accounts.

The Haunted Mansion Project Book One published by Damnation Books and is available in print and e-book. You can find it at the Damnation Books website or at Amazon
